Welcome to " Sew and Learn," where children don't just learn to sew, they embark on a creative journey that intertwines art, nature, and mathematics.
Our workshops provide a unique opportunity for children of all ages to design and create their own projects while exploring the origins and properties of various fabrics.
They will investigate patterns seen in architecture and nature, and apply mathematical concepts like symmetry, fractions, and percentages. Children will see their learning come alive in the most engaging ways.
What we do in the Workshop & How it Works
Children will print on fabric.
Children will create their own design.
Children will learn to thread a needle and sew in a straight line.
Children will make an item of their choice which they will take home
What will they come away with!

Who will be running the workshops ?
I'm Angela,
I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience working with children aged 5 to 17, including those with special educational needs.
In my creative sewing classes, I blend fun with learning, offering a nurturing environment where your child can develop essential sewing skills, enhance their fine motor capabilities, and unleash their creative potential.

Prices
There will be a block of 3 workshops for each project . Each workshop is £30 (one hour session). Payment for the block of 3 is required at the start.
All resources are included in the price but children are asked to bring a sewing kit along ( pins, needles and tape measure)
Location
The venue for each set of workshops will be confirmed on receipt of payment
What is the age range?
The classes are broken down into two groups
(a) 6 - 10
(b) 11 - 15
Safeguarding and health and safety
All staff have a DBS
If a child needs to go to the toilet parents need to be available on the day
How long is the workshop?
Each workshop will last for one hour
